Gabriela Valentín Díaz

Gabriela Valentín Díaz (ella/she) joined EarthRights in 2021 as a Bertha Justice Fellow and was promoted to Staff Attorney in 2023. Gabriela is from Puerto Rico and is passionate about anti-colonialism work, environmental justice and protection, and Indigenous people’s rights.
She is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Law where she was an Articles and Comments Editor of the Inter-American Law Review and a Human Rights Clinic Intern and Fellow, where she conducted advocacy work on the right to food and the rights of Indigenous women and girls. During her time at Miami Law, she supported equity advancement initiatives for Latine and first-generation law students and co-founded the First-Generation Law Association at Miami Law.
Gabriela has also worked with the Miami-Dade Public Defender, Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, and as a consultant for the Miami Law Human Rights Clinic. She is a collaborator of the Puerto Rican Alliance, serves as an Associate Board member of Just the Beginning – A Pipeline Organization, and is an alumna of the 4-H program. In her spare time, you can find her at the movies or the beach. Gabriela is admitted to practice law in Florida and the District of Columbia.
