Elaine Godwin

Communications Coordinator

Elaine Godwin (they/them) joined EarthRights International in December 2022, and is now Communications Coordinator. Prior to joining EarthRights, Elaine was a Junior Media Associate for Patriotic Millionaires, a non-profit focusing on livable wages and fair, equitable tax codes for all. Elaine began their media and communications career as a media intern for the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), a nonprofit promoting queer businesses and entrepreneurial advocacy.

Elaine has a Bachelor’s degree in English and Gender, Sexuality, & Women’s Studies from the College of William and Mary. Elaine worked for the college’s prestigious student newspaper as Opinions Associate Editor, as well as Communications Lead for DisInfo Labs, a student-led data science misinformation group. Elaine has a passion for marginalized communities, particularly those with which they have a lived experience–especially disability and LGBTQIA+ communities. They live in Northern Virginia and enjoy continuing their digital work on Twitch as an avid affiliate, in addition to teaching themselves American Sign Language.
