2019 was a key year for EarthRights. In a historic 7-1 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of our clients in the case Jam v. International Finance Corporation, determining that international organizations like the World Bank Group are not absolutely immune from lawsuits in U.S. courts. We launched our Cancel Corporate Abuse campaign to hold corporations accountable for human rights and environmental abuses. We represented dozens of clients facing abuse at the hands of extractive industries and supported allies around the world through coalition work, strategic partnerships, and much more.
