Maria Paula Riveros

Maria Paula Riveros joins EarthRights International with the goal of prioritizing the integrity and well-being of the victims and communities represented by the organization. She brings 20 years of experience in design and implementation of communication strategies and campaigns, content creation, event production, television projects, and brand image design for both the public and private sectors. She has consistently incorporated a strong social and educational focus into every project she has led.
Maria Paula’s professional experience includes creating campaigns and producing content for government entities such as Colombia’s Ministry of Labor, the Bogotá Department of Education, and non-profit organizations like RedPaPaz. She has led audiovisual projects for public television and the conceptual editing of documentary specials in Colombia for the German channel DW. In 2022, she joined EarthRights International as a consultant for the Amazon team to design communication strategies for the U’wa case before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.
Maria Paula holds a degree in Social Communication from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá. She was awarded an Ibermedia training scholarship, which allowed her to study Film Directing at the Center for Cinematographic Studies of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain, where she also studied general photography at IDEP (School of Image and Design).
