Khin Pyae Pyae is a 2014 graduate of the EarthRights School Myanmar. She has completed three years of Computer University at Dawei and has worked with TarKaPaw Youth Group as field coordinator, organizing communities around issues like land grabbing, writing complaint letters and coordinating with governmental offices in Dawei, like the Ministry of Mining and Administrative Department, Forest Department and Land Record Department. Khin Pyae Pyae joined ERI’s alumni program EarthRights Exposures, filming and editing documentaries regarding the impacts of land confiscation and environmental destruction on livelihoods, as a result of the Heinda and BawaPin Lead mines and Dawei Special Economic Zone. In 2016, she worked on the Sector Wide Impacts Assessment mining project with Myanmar Centre for Responsible Business as a researcher, focused on human rights and business. She has also worked with Fauna & Flora International as a Mining Team Leader, focused on the Tanintharyi Mining Assessment and the threats to biodiversity in Myeik and Kawthaung. She is interested in sharing knowledge with communities and promote their human rights.
