Nang Hom Kham is ethnic Shan from Southern Shan State, Myanmar. She is a 2017 graduate of the EarthRights School and has since been attending several training programs in environmental issues, both in Myanmar and abroad. In 2013, she graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in English Literature from Taunggyi University, Southern Shan State.
Hom has experience working with environmental and human rights issues. She has worked with communities affected by development projects. In early 2016, she completed a three-month internship with Weaving Bonds across Borders, an international organization in Chiang Mai. Later, she served in another internship with the Mong Pan Youth Association, in Southern Shan State as a local researcher. Hom has good skills in writing, translating, and financial management. She is fluent in Shan, Burmese, Thai, and English. She is interested in working closely with youth and learning new things to develop different perspectives.
