Darren Daley
Mekong Regional Director
Darren Daley brings over a decade of experience in development program management and advocacy, with a focus on environmental conservation and the advancement of land tenure rights in the Mekong Region. His work has centered on researching traditional land use practices among the region’s diverse ethnic groups, analyzing land use changes, and addressing the impacts of economic land concessions and large-scale hydropower and mining projects.
Darren leverages his extensive experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) to strengthen programs and lead positive change. He combines evidence-based practices with a systems-thinking perspective to guide strategic approaches to and advocacy for socially and environmentally just policies and development initiatives.
Known for his ability to build partnerships and inspire action, Darren has collaborated with grassroots organizations, government agencies, and multilateral bodies to drive socially and environmentally just policies, while championing locally-led development. His efforts to foster resilience and sustainability are underpinned by a deep commitment to and respect for the communities he serves.
Darren holds a Master of Public Administration in International Development Program Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies.
