
Mahima Chaudhary
Mahima Chaudhary is a rising 2L at Berkeley Law School. She majored in economics and minored in public health at Georgetown University, graduating in May of 2020. In college, Mahima tutored inmates at the Arlington County Detention Center, participated in an annual Indian dance showcase for charity, and studied at the London School of Economics for one year. After college, Mahima worked as a paralegal for four years, first at a healthcare law firm, then a financial crimes defense firm, and finally at the American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado (ACLU-CO). At ACLU-CO, Mahima assisted attorneys in civil rights litigation ranging from police misconduct, unlawful government surveillance, and infringements of the 1st Amendment. She supported a week-long jury trial resulting in a $4-million verdict for an elderly client who was subjected to an unconstitutional SWAT-team search of her home. At Berkeley, Mahima is a Public Interest Scholar. She has assisted individuals applying for asylum through the California Asylum Representation Clinic. In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing, fostering dogs, and exploring the best ice cream spots around her!
Mahima joined EarthRights International in May of 2025 as a legal intern in the U.S. office.
