Climate Justice = Shifting Community Power
We launched the Climate Resilience and Environmental Justice Project (CREJ) to demand a just transition rooted in community resilience.
The Problem
The climate crisis is exacerbating vulnerabilities that Indigenous, Black, Brown, immigrant, and working-class communities in the United States face as a result of long and ongoing legacies of structural discrimination and colonialism. This problem is deeply intersectional – corporate exploitation and state sacrifice and neglect work together to deny communities’ fundamental rights to a healthy environment and sustainable future.
EarthRights Takes Action
In partnership with U.S. frontline communities across the country, EarthRights’ Climate Resilience and Environmental Justice Project carries out multi-pronged strategies that address the intersectional impacts of the climate crisis in alignment with a community’s priorities for justice. We tackle these challenges by leveraging the law, advocacy, campaigns, storytelling, and training.
