Michelle is the Development Director at EarthRights. She joined EarthRights as Development Manager in May 2017. Michelle has over ten years of experience working in fundraising and development. She has a passion for building the capacity of nonprofit organizations who are fighting for the rights of the nation and world’s most vulnerable and marginalized communities, particularly through policy, legal, and advocacy work. Her fundraising strategy focuses on building deep and lasting relationships with donors and partners.
Prior to joining EarthRights, Michelle was the Development Coordinator for the National Alliance to End Homelessness where she oversaw all of the Alliance’s fundraising and development activities. Michelle began her career in fundraising as a Project Manager at KG Consulting, a boutique fundraising and development consulting firm, where she worked with numerous progressive organizations like the Human Rights Campaign, Roosevelt Institute, EMILY’s List, and the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. Michelle has a Masters in Public Policy from the George Washington University with a focus in Nonprofit Management and a Bachelors in Political Science and Sociology from the University of South Carolina. She lives in Washington, DC and teaches barre fitness classes in her spare time.
