Nathalie Alegre

Staff Attorney

Nathalie is Peruvian and a New York-licensed attorney.  Before joining ERI in 2024, she worked at an international law firm on litigation and corporate internal investigations. In 2020-2021 she clerked for the Hon. M. Margaret McKeown of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She studied law at the University of California – Berkeley, where she was a Human Rights Center Fellow and a legal intern at ERI’s Amazon Program focusing on the protection of indigenous territories. Previously, Nathalie was an advocacy campaign organizer in issue areas including workers’ rights, equitable urban development, and environmental justice, primarily in New York City. Nathalie has an M.Sc. in Latin American Studies from the University of Oxford and a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Yale University. In her spare time, she goes rock climbing and makes pottery.

Nathalie es peruana y abogada licenciada en el estado de Nueva York, Estados Unidos. Antes de unirse a ERI en el 2024, trabajó en un bufete de abogados internacional en el área de litigio e investigaciones internas corporativas. En el 2020-2021 fue asistente judicial para la Hble. M. Margaret McKeown del Noveno Circuito de Apelación de los Estados Unidos. Estudió derecho en la Universidad de California – Berkeley, donde fue becaria del Centro de Derechos Humanos y pasante legal del Programa para la Amazonía de ERI, enfocándose en la defensa de territorios indígenas. Anteriormente, Nathalie fue organizadora de campañas de incidencia en áreas temáticas como derechos de los trabajadores, desarrollo urbano equitativo y justicia medioambiental, principalmente en la Ciudad de Nueva York. Nathalie tiene un M.Sc. en Estudios Latinoamericanos de la Universidad de Oxford y un B.A. en Estudios Medioambientales de la Universidad de Yale. En sus tiempos libres, practica escalada y hace cerámica.
