Maryum graduated from Harvard Law School in 2014 where she was awarded a Sheldon Fellowship to support her work at ERI’s Amazon Office. During law school Maryum interned for the Open Society Justice Initiative (OSJI) assisting OSJI’s efforts in monitoring the Khmer Rouge Tribunal. The following summer she was a Ford Foundation Law School Fellow for Women’s Link Worldwide where she worked on gender justice cases at the European Court of Human Rights and the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women. Maryum also worked with Harvard’s Immigration and Refugee Clinic on political asylum cases and the International Human Rights Clinic on projects related to military abuses in eastern Myanmar and the extractive industry in South Africa.
